本期我們要來討論一個問題就是廣播系統的動態處理。為何需要討論呢?因為公共廣播系統能用的動態(Dynamic)是有限的,它的下限就是現場環境噪音,上限就是靈敏度與被分配的功率,再扣除投放到人耳的距離,能有多少呢?其實就是20~30dB,而且公共廣播又是常態聆聽狀態底下,不允許以大聲壓進行播放,此時如何善用動態空間(Dynamic Range)成了一個必須要思考的問題。
唱片界有個名詞為”響度戰爭”,成因來自於流行音樂唱片業,希望歌曲在”用戶端”能被以最大音量播送從而吸引聽眾的注意。所以唱片行業打破了傳統規範,把0dBu以上的頭頂空間(Head room)也都用上,而且是盡可能的堆滿。將原始信號進行壓縮,將”大信號壓小,將整體信號提高”,使其在收音機,電視MV聽來都是很大聲的,然後耳朵注意到這首歌,眼球多看一下這個偶像,以便於後面的代言行銷等等。
